I'm so excited for this school year in 2nd grade!  We have a lot of learning, activities, and fun planned for this year!  I feel that all students are more successful in school with persistent communication with parents.  Please make sure you have the Remind app so I can communicate successes, behaviors, and concerns with you.  I operate using the Parent-Student-Teacher Triangle.  When all of us respectfully work together, your child will be successful!  It has also been proven that seeing parents volunteering helps students become more successful at school, too!  Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities through the Remind app.  There will be links to that are sent via Remind.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or praises!

About Me

I have been a teacher since 2006.  I graduated from the University of Arizona's College of Education in Tucson, Arizona.  I have had the experience of teaching in various socioeconomic schools and even a very successful National Blue Ribbon School!  With my years of experience, I helped with the efforts of that school becoming A+ Rated for several years in a row and it's National Blue Ribbon School recognition near the end of career there.  I've had the opportunity to teach 1st grade, 2nd grade, and even Art for grades K-5!  I have found that through my many years of teaching experience: 2nd grade has my heart.  I think it's the best grade to teach!

I reside in Tempe with my husband and two dogs (Rosco and Miyana).  Born in California, but lived most of my childhood in Washington State.

I enjoy going to the movies, singing, writing, and playing video games. (Yes! Teachers can be cool, too!)  I'm also a very active church member who sings in my church's choir!  When I'm finished with worship services, then I'm busy at choir rehearsal.

When I'm not busy teaching, planning lessons, and doing church things, then I'm busy doing non-profit charity work for various Arizona charity organizations by making appearances as superheroes and video game characters (some know this as "cosplay").  It's always fun to do and it's another way I get to touch the lives of children by brightening up their day as one of their favorite characters.  Busy busy!
