Welcome!

Welcome to third grade! This year our class will focus on choices and being responsible for the decisions we make. The class motto emphasizes our class focus of which each child will be reminded of each morning by saying the class motto together.

Our Class Motto
We have a choice. We can choose to feel good about ourselves. We are responsible for learning and exploring. We are responsible for our feelings and behaviors. These choices belong to use. Today I will choose to do my best and to feel good about myself.

In addition to this we will be working to develop and promote a positive and safe learning environment where children feel challenged, but comfortable taking risks. Throughout the year we will focus on developing and using the pillars of character from the Character Counts Program. The pillars will serve as the class rules and will be taught and reviewed throughout the year. The following are the pillars for character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

About Me

My name is Wendy Norburg and I have been at Quartz Hill Elementary since it opened in 2007. This is my 19th year teaching and I can't believe how fast the years have flown by! I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and from Northern Arizona University with a Master's in School Counseling. I am thankful for the amazing students I have had to work with and for the support I have received from so many of the families I have worked with over the years. I am looking forward to another great year at Quartz Hill Elementary this year! Let's make this year a great one together!
