Hello! I am Mrs. Christine Barnes, and I have the wonderful joy of teaching Kindergarten at Quartz Hill Elementary. I have been teaching for 34 years, and I still absolutely love the natural curiosity and pure excitement that Kindergarteners bring to school every single day.

One of my favorite highlights of the school year is watching our "little engineers" at work! I loved seeing my students create their Kindy 500 Cars this year. They did an incredible job designing their vehicles, and seeing their creativity in action is one of the many things that makes our classroom so special.

You can help your child feel like a "big kid" by practicing independence at home. Encourage them to practice opening their own lunch containers and using their words to express their feelings. These small steps build huge confidence for the classroom!

When I am not at school, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my grandson. I am also a big fan of the color pink, and I can never say no to a good bowl of chips and salsa!
